Terms and Conditions of Trade

Unfortunately in this age we have to provide a whole bunch of legal stuff now. It probably is a good thing, as if you have any questions it may get answered here and you won't have to ask us. On the other hand, if you do have any questions, then you should definitely contact us.

Prices

Prices online are correct at the time of ordering. We will always charge the price shown on our website, unless of course we make a ridiculous typo like $29.90 instead of $299. We will notify you of any changes before we process payment, but usually the next thing you will hear from us is that the order has already left.

Backorders

We will charge you for the full cost of freight as if we were sending out the order as one package with the initial shipment. We will send out any backorders at our cost. We will hold backorders for a reasonable amount of time to consolidate the shipment if two or more items are out of stock. We usually believe that a one-two week period is a reasonable amount of time.

Warranty

All products advertised by Sovereign Timber Products carry a warranty honoured by us. This means that we can sort out warranty issues swiftly.

Returns

We generally do not accept items back that are not warranty claims if they are no longer required. However if the product is in new condition, undamaged still current stock we are happy to negotiate a suitable arrangement for both parties. 

Availability

All items listed on the website are available and are usually in stock. Depending on the item and the quantity it may take us a few weeks to build more stock. When we find items are out of stock, we will contact you and discuss options.

We have  large proportion of our range in stock at any one time but stock levels will vary depending on our manufacturing schedule. Most times we are only out of stock for a week or two, but sometimes the wait can be longer for larger orders.

Specification

Measurements are supplied as an approximate guide. No responsibility is accepted for variations from information supplied in our catalogue. If exact sizes are required please let us know.

Suitability

The purchaser must satisfy himself or herself as to the suitability of any product for the intended use before purchase. We will try our best to help though and if we don't know what we're talking about, we'll tell you instead of trying to wing it.

Timber Variations

All of our products are made from solid timber.

Timber is a natural product and varies from piece to piece. Even within the same species and in fact within the same tree, variations in colour, grain, hardness, weight and in fact all aspects of the timber will and do change.

It is not possible to match all boards of a single piece to be exactly the same. We believe that variation within the timber gives added character and charm. Therefore you will find that many of our products have variation within the timber. This may mean subtle variations or could include significant variations such as a dark streak in a light timber or light streak in a dark timber, or natural holes or bark (where appropriate). If you require a totally consistent colour or grain, then you may be better off considering a man made timber substitute.

Weight

The weight of all products is intended as a guide only for calculating postage and freight. The weight of many products varies with their volume. The weight includes the boxes and packaging of the individual items. Outer protective packaging or airbag weight is to be added where necessary.

Freight and Delivery

Prices apply to goods purchased direct from our showroom and store or when we are personally delivering stock. We can arrange postage, delivery or freight at an additional cost as detailed in the schedule found on our delivery and payments pages.

Insurance

Freight companies are classified as general carriers and therefore do not cover damage or loss of goods in transit. While they take the utmost care, they do not cover these situations with insurance. We have selected freight companies that we believe offer the best service possible to minimize these problems, but we also offer a service where you can insure the goods. This is calculated as a charge of $2 for every $50 of the value of goods ordered. It is always rounded up to the closest dollar amount. The amount calculated is with government taxes included on the purchase price.

Government Taxes

All prices on this website include the 10% Australian Goods and Services tax. If you are purchasing from a country outside of Australia, this amount will be deducted from the total price at the checkout. To calculate the price in Australian dollars without the GST, please divide any price by 1.1. All orders for Australian customers include the GST. Orders that do not attract the tax have to be sent directly from us to an overseas address.
